Let's make it personal. message series

I’m going to start a little series. It’s something I heard in a church a week before last. And it really, really did strike a chord with me.

There was a young boy in this church that I preached in, Fellowship Baptist Church. And this young boy’s name was Tucker. He was only 12. And Tucker came down with the flu. But the flu attacked the heart. The heart, I think at one point, was only beating 12 beats a minute. So they rushed him into hospital, to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, which is a big children’s hospital, and they opened up his chest and put him straight onto whatever the machine is then that just pretty much pumps the heart for him. And the church had a prayer vigil, a 48-hour prayer vigil from when he went into the hospital and literally until the weekend. And the pastor was just talking about, you know, that he was in the church at two o’clock in the morning and different families were coming. And then he made this statement. He said, I would like you to pray as if it was you. What if it was you a child? What if you were the one in need of prayer?
